Thank you so much for helping us make our first annual Village of Promise Casino Night
held on August 24, 2013 such a successful event. We were able to raise over $16,000
for a very worthy cause. This was our first large fundraiser, and we exceeded our
expectations.

Since 2009, the Village of Promise Collective Mentoring Program has been carrying out its
mission to stop the cycle of incarceration by mentoring children whose parents are or have
been in prison. Powered by the effort of dedicated volunteers operating on a shoestring
budget, the Village provides mentoring, age-appropriate workshops and activities such
as in depth museum tours, horseback riding, and a 5-day summer camp experience.
Every dime we raised will support our monthly activities and furthers our mission to stop
the cycle of incarceration of these vulnerable children. In addition, with your generous
support of each Villager’s “wish list”, for the first year, we were also able to give each child
a backpack loaded with school supplies and money for their “wish item” for school. When
we were passing the backpacks out, each child expressed genuine gratitude.

We are deeply grateful for your assistance in making our Casino Night event a special
one. One of the common comments made by many of you in attendance was how much
fun the night was. We captured some of that fun in photographs taken throughout the
night by our two photographers. The following links will take you to the pictures that you
can purchase if you would like to capture the memories.
